Real-Time Temperature Control of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger by IMC based PID controller

Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger is most widely used efficient heat exchanger in industries. The outlet temperature of the shell tube system has to be kept at a desired set point according process requirement by using controllers. Many controllers such as PID, feedback plus feed forward, Fuzzy logic, Internal Model based PID controller are control temperature. objective hot fluid manipulating inlet cold flow rate. transfer function obtained energy balance equations. Designing Controller done conventional Cohen-Coon tuning method advanced IMC method. closed loop results both responses for various changes disturbance studied. experiment MATLAB simulations carried out above parameters CC-PID IMC-PID data noted different points. Comparison made between simulations. And compared On comparing results, we can demonstrate that gives better terms lesser overshoot faster settling time. present work emphasis about experimental demonstration model (IMC) general control.
